About Cedar Line Dispatch

Built for people who would rather be outside.

Who we are

A Canadian travel and outdoors publication

Cedar Line Dispatch is a Canadian travel and outdoors publication focused on practical destination inspiration, outdoor activities and thoughtful ways to explore Canada.

We publish destination guides, activity notes, trip ideas and field notes for people planning time outside — whether that is a first weekend of camping, a morning on a mountain lake or a longer journey through the Atlantic provinces or the North.

We are a publication, not a tour operator or travel agency. We do not sell trips, accommodation or bookings.

How we approach travel

Realistic, unhurried, well prepared

  1. Start with the people going

We write for mixed abilities and real schedules, not just for the fittest person in the group.

  2. Be honest about seasons

Snow, bugs, crowds and short days are part of the picture. We say so.

  3. Look beyond the famous viewpoint

We point to quieter alternatives as well as the well-known places.

  4. Leave room for the unexpected

Good trips have slack in them — for weather, for rest and for the detour that turns out to be the highlight.

Responsible outdoors

The places come first

Many of the landscapes we write about are the traditional territories of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, and many are protected for wildlife and future visitors.

  • Follow Leave No Trace

We encourage the seven Leave No Trace principles in everything we publish.

  • Respect local rules

Closures, permits, group requirements and fire bans exist for good reasons. We link to official sources where possible.

  • Give wildlife space

We follow Parks Canada’s distance guidance and never encourage approaching or feeding animals.

  • Support local communities

We encourage readers to spend locally and to learn about the communities and Nations whose lands they visit.

Our editorial approach

Useful, accurate and clearly labelled

Original writing. Our guides and field notes are written for Cedar Line Dispatch. Photography on the site is licensed from free stock libraries.

General information, not instruction. We share inspiration and practical planning notes. We are not a substitute for official safety information, local knowledge or professional guidance. Conditions change; we always encourage readers to verify details with official sources before travelling.

Transparency. We do not currently publish sponsored content. If that ever changes, sponsored content, partnerships or affiliate links will be clearly labelled.

Corrections. If you spot an error or out-of-date information, please tell us. We review every correction request and update content where needed.
